Hurdler Britany Anderson makes her World Athletics Championships debut when she competes in the women’s 100m hurdles on Saturday. Staff Reporter Daniel Wheeler had a question and answer session with her.
DW: What songs are on your playlist, and what’s your favourite?
BA: I am more of an R&B type of girl. I will do anything to R&B. I am listening to Giveon’s new album at the moment.
DW: Do you have a word or mantra that you say to yourself when you’re competing?
BA: Yes. ‘I trust you, God.’
DW: How long have you been dreaming about making it to the World Champs, and what is it like to make the team?
BA: I have been dreaming about this for some time now. I am really excited that I made it here this far. I know that God didn’t bring me this far to leave me here. So I’m praying that everything goes well.
DW: Who is your favourite sports hero?
BA: I never really thought of that one.
DW: What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?
BA: I pray.
