Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz were beaten 3-0 by Canada in their Concacaf Women’s Championship semi-final match in Monterrey, Mexico on Thursday night.
Jessie Fleming (18th), Allysha Chapman (64th), and Adriana Leon (74th) were the scorers for Canada, who led 1-0 at halftime.
Goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer was kept busy all night for Jamaica, making several keys saves to keep prevent a heavier margin of defeat.
Jamaica, who started with captain Khadija Shaw on the bench, had one shot on goal in the first half, compared to their opponents’ eight in the first half.
The Reggae Girlz were kept on the back foot by the Canadians in the second half and Chapman increased Canada’s advantage with a powerful header before Leon wrapped up the victory.
Canada will face the United States in the final. The Americans blanked Costa Rica 3-0 in the first semi-final.
