Local communications group SMC has come out in support of protesters advocating for missing social-media influencer Donna-Lee Donaldson’s safe return.
In a statement released earlier today, the company said the peaceful protests signify Jamaican’s willingness to move on from the culture of violence that has continued to “plague Jamaican society.”
“We’re saddened to hear of Donna-lee’s kidnapping, and the lack of concrete responses given from the surrounding investigations. SMC values not only the influence that social media personalities like her have on the community, but the lives of all our young women who continue to be kidnapped, among other unfortunate circumstances,” said group CEO Maurice Hamilton.
SMC, which partners with influencers like Donna-Lee to bring out the best talents in the entertainment industry, also said they stand in full support of these advocates of great change.
“We are praying for Donna-Lee’s family, and we are hopeful for a safe return,” Hamilton added.
